Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, logging in, or otherwise using StoryWhim, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service description

StoryWhim provides online software for organizing and drafting long-form fiction, including manuscripts, chapters, notes, and related project materials. Features may change over time. We may add, modify, or remove functionality with reasonable notice when changes materially affect paid plans or data access.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at security@storywhim.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use StoryWhim to violate law or others' rights
• Upload malware or attempt to disrupt or probe our systems
• Scrape or automate access in ways that burden the service
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
• Use the service to store or distribute unlawful content

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose risk to the service or other users.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of manuscripts, notes, and other material you create or upload ("Your Content"). You grant StoryWhim a limited license to host, back up, display, and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the service for you, including format conversion, search indexing within your account, and support requests you initiate.

You represent that you have the rights needed for Your Content and that it does not infringe third-party rights.

6. Availability and support

We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, outages, and third-party dependencies may cause temporary unavailability. Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis at support@storywhim.com.

7. Disclaimers

StoryWhim is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will meet every writer's workflow or that drafts will be error-free after export.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, StoryWhim and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of fifty U.S. dollars or the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. We will post the revised version on this page and update the date above. Material changes may also be emailed to the address on your account. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
